No one: Hey, it would be fun to revisit your trip to Egypt, Jordan, and Israel in 2019. For the next few days, you should post letters describing each day.
Me: Say less
Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well and filled with peace. I’m writing to share the wonders and profound experiences that remind me of the stories we’ve cherished in our hearts.
Our day began with a reminder of the greatest news ever told, “He has risen!” (Mark 16:6). After a warm breakfast, we ventured toward the Dung Gate, our spirits high with anticipation. Our path took us past the Western Wall, a place of deep prayer and longing for many. Standing there, I thought deeply of the countless prayers whispered against its ancient stones.
We then ascended to the majestic Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa Mosque. Incredibly, we stood where the first and second Temples once marked the landscape. Walking through these sacred sites, I felt deeply connected to our shared history and faith.
Our journey continued to the Pools of Bethesda, as described in John 5. I was struck by the story of the man who had been waiting for 38 years for healing. It was here that Jesus asked, “Do you want to be healed?” and, with a word, restored the man’s health, enabling him to “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” This miraculous event was a powerful reminder of hope and faith in despair. As we explored further, we encountered St. Anne’s Church, a place echoing with history and song.

Our path led us through historical sites like Pilate’s Judgment Hall and the Via Dolorosa, retracing Jesus’s steps. Walking these ancient streets, I could almost hear the echoes of history, reminding us of the sacrifices made by love.
Our day was concluded at the Garden Tomb, a place of quiet reflection and prayer. It was a poignant moment to sculpture and singing.
This journey has been a reminder of the profound love that guides our lives. The stories of faith, sacrifice, and resurrection have come alive in a new way, deepening my gratitude for our shared heritage and the hope we carry forward. May these words bring you closer to the wonders we’ve been blessed to witness.
With love and blessings,
