In the fall of 1991 I first made my way into the assemblies of the Sunnyvale church after at bible study led by Robert Hudson. The was filled with hearts that have become dear to me beyond measure. They have encouraged me, supported me in the preaching of the gospel (in Louisiana, Oregon and the Philippines) but more than that they have continued to both an example in faith and friends though the days beyond the first encounter. I have recently learned that the members who currently comprise the work have made the emotion filled decision to “dissolve” the work there and join in gospel work with the Santa Clara church. I still profit from the leadership of men like Don, Pat, Howard, and so many others had such a strong influence on my bumpy start into growing as God needed me.

Over this weekend I have learned of the passing of Don Alexander (writer of so many powerful hymns that help guide the heart toward God through song, and the news that Jerry Earnhardt has been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. Jerry and his family came to mean much to Jill and I while in Oregon.

beyond all these things I am learning more and more that with God his timing is beyond ours.
.
.
it is good then for us to remember:
.
.
this world is not our home: 1peter 2:11
our earthly tents are but a wisp in time: 2corinthians 5:1
heaven is truly worth the journey: revelation 22:1-3
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV)
