Hope

Sometimes, understanding where we stand with God—especially about something as big and mysterious as our forever future—can get tricky. It’s like this tension doesn’t easily go away. On one side, you have this fear that maybe, just maybe, we could mess up big time and lose out on God’s love. And on the other, there’s this idea floating around that once you’re in, you’re in for good, no matter what. It feels safe, but it’s a bit too simple, right? Here’s where Romans 5:6-10 comes into play, acting like a compass amid our confusion. This passage paints a picture of our journey with God, starting from where we were pretty much at our worst—weak, ungodly, you name it—and yet, that’s exactly where Christ meets us, with his life laid down as a bridge back to God. But the story doesn’t end there. Because of Jesus—because he didn’t just die but rose again and is still at work today—we’re not just brought back to God; we’re given a whole new identity and a secure future. It’s like Jesus is the author of our faith and keeps us moving forward, ensuring we stay in the story. So, Romans 5:10 isn’t just words to read; it’s an invitation to trust deeply in this truth: that our salvation is as alive as Jesus is. And with him guiding us, we can be sure that we’re not just passing through this life but heading somewhere beautiful, somewhere we can call home, with confidence lighting the way.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:6–10, ESV)
