- Worldly Causes Over Divine Callings: In our journey as disciples, it’s easy to get caught up in causes that may seem important in the world’s eyes but might not align with our divine purpose. Remember, our actions should be rooted in God’s plan for us.
- Empathy ≠ Acceptance: Disciples, let’s be clear – showing empathy doesn’t mean we endorse everything. We follow Christ’s example of love without compromising our convictions. As it says in Romans 12:9 (ESV), “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.”
- Ignoring Sin isn’t Love: There’s a dangerous trend among disciples – avoiding discussions about sin under the guise of love. However, true love involves addressing sin and guiding one another toward repentance. Proverbs 27:5 (ESV) advises, “Better is open rebuke than hidden love.”
- Beware of Myths and Fables: In a world filled with misleading stories, disciples must be discerning. Don’t be unknowingly ensnared by myths and fables; instead, ground yourself in the truth of God’s Word. 1 Timothy 4:7 (ESV) encourages us: “Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness.”
- Dismantling Arguments with Divine Power: Our spiritual battle involves more than earthly weapons. Rely on God’s divine power to tear down arguments and lofty opinions contrary to His truth. As 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (ESV) affirms, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
Let’s stay anchored in God’s Word, discerning the currents of culture with wisdom and grace.
